My Art Experience!!

I have enjoyed this art class and will miss the activities that we did in class. I have a deeper appreciation about art now and i understand why it is important. Ever since i was a child i loved art. I loved drawing, painting, making clay pots and so on. When i signed up for this class I knew that it was going to be fun and something i will learn at the same time. At the beginning of the semester my drawing skills were not any good and throughout this semester it has improved. I learned about shading and the positive and negative space.  I was taught something new and exciting every week. I liked how we did our own Matisse drawing and other drawings as well. My favorite project for me was creating my "Lady Bug" using tissue paper. I never had an art project using tissue paper before. I also like drawing our hand free style then later on drawing our hand again and adding in the details. To see the before and after of the hand was amazing! I surprised myself after that drawing. It really does boost your self esteem. I was proud of my art work so much that i showed it off to some of my family members!!
If i do decide to teach down the road, i would not mind teaching art to children. I want to see them achieve in their art skills and develop confidence like i did. I am going to take what i learned and teach young students different techniques to do art. My art experience in this class was positive and I found this class relaxing. Art to me is something you can not mess up on or nobody will judge you because that is what you are expressing on paper. It brought me excitement and I know that it will to students. I realized that art defines who we are. At first i was a little jealous that some girls were better than me but i know now that everyone is different and everyone is creative. I felt proud of some of my art work and will keep the ones i did well on. This art class encouraged me to look at things in a new light and i explored new things. Art is a valuable subject and i am coming out of this class with a whole new perspective about art. In the future i want to continue making art and trying to come up with some creative ideas to do just for fun. My art has progressed and hopefully one day i will be better at art. I will miss this class and the i learned from others around me. I like the idea of posting art on a blog for everyone to look at. That was an interesting idea! Great class and i would not mind taking another art class just for fun.

Cyberbullying and Sexting

It is crazy to hear about cyberbullying and sexting going on in schools and at home. It is a shame to hear how many teenagers have taken their own lives because of being emotionally bullied. I believe parents need to listen to their children when they are being harassed or picked on. This should not be taken lightly and parents need to take action and go up to the school and speak to the principle. Parent also need to monitor their children using the Internet and the cell phone. Teachers need to educate their class on the consequences about this serious issue. They could also have guest speakers come in to the schools too. I do not have any children but i would do whatever it takes for me to protect my child.

Valentine's Day in Spain!! :)

When you think of  Spain or if you have ever been there it is a beautiful romantic destination! Spain celebrates Valentines Day in February too. This day is a major festival in Spain and foreign tourists fly for an enjoyable experience. They arrange the festivals with Spanish style with a little cultural influence from America, through popular media.
SPAIN'S TRADITION:
This is a day of happiness and excitement. The most common custom thing to do on this day is exchanging gifts with love messages. People dress up and go dancing with their loved ones. Young men give flowers, rings, perfumes, gift baskets, or photos as their gifts. Roses, chocolates, candies, and cards are the most popular gifts. In Spain, Valentine's Day is considered to as a lover's day. Some travel to Madrid and Barcelona to have an enjoyable experience there with there significant other. Valentine's Day in Spain is like any other parts of the world that celebrate it but in my opinion I believe it is the most romantic places to be on that day.

Assignment on Learning Experiences

One of the rationales discussed in chapter 1 that i could relate to most would be the cultural understanding. The reason is because when i was in 3rd or 4th grade we had to make a pinata and stuff it with candy. Then i remember one year we learned about other peoples cultures and dress up either as an Indian or any culture we thought of. I dressed up as an Indian girl and gave a small speech about their heritage. It was a great way to learn about different peoples cultures and gave me a better understanding as well.  Vocations was least significant to me or i dont recall using this in my past. I never really had much hands on with software, photography or film.

Out of the three approaches would be media approach because i recall making pottery in my art class. this was exciting and a different art approach  and many teachers use this activity in their classes today.
